Training We Offer

You do NOT need to be a member of the PMA to take part in this training.

We normally provide a variety of workshops and training sessions countrywide. Currently all training is taking place via Zoom.

At Production Manager level we offer topics ranging from legal issues such as compliance and music licensing, to Health & Safety and tax issues. We also cover technical topics relating to production and the current pandemic situation.

For more junior people, we offer a variety of entry level and limited experience sessions, which are open to all - bursaries are sometimes available via Screenskills.

Training events are FREE to members with fees charged for non-members. Prices vary from session to session. Places are limited according to each type of event.

Alamy Content Licensing Workshop

Thursday 8th September 2022 From: 5-6.30pm

Venue Online

Thursday 8th September 2022

5.00pm to 6.30 (approx)

Licensing stock content can be the perfect solution for so many production challenges.  It saves time and money and can provide content that is either expensive to shoot or impossible to replicate.  But the licensing process can sometimes be confusing.

Alamy's presentation on Thursday 8th September aims to make life easier.

Their talk will include an insider’s guide to the content licensing world, exclusive to PMA members; a brief industry history, followed by tips for searching and licensing the perfect content, an invaluable education for newcomers to licensing and a handy refresher for those who have dabbled.

Alamy has a treasure trove of amazing photographs and video, which can beautifully complement any TV or film production, and they'll showcase some of this collection, adding an insight to the story behind the lens.

The presenters are:

Niki Lewis, the company's experienced production account manager;

Elly Reid who has been a content researcher since Alamy first launched;

James Allsworth, who heads up the content acquisition team; and finally

Rachel Wakefield, who is responsible for the product and proposition Alamy delivers to its TV and film production customers.

This event is FREE for members of the PMA (and those on the Junior Production Staff list) and £25 for anyone else.  Payment in advance via Paypal is required for non-members.   [email protected]

Our Sponsors

The PMA is sponsored by a variety of companies in the film and television industry. We have a long-standing relationship with many of them dating back to the PMA’s inception in 1991.

PMA members benefit from the information and services that our sponsors can provide, while sponsors gain access to the upper echelon of Production Managers in the UK who are major purchasers for the industry.

Become a sponsor

We only have one sponsor per area of business but occasionally opportunities to become a sponsor of the PMA do arise.

Sponsors get the chance to meet our members several times a year, host parties, explain their services and write for our magazine The Bottom Line.
