Training We Offer

You do NOT need to be a member of the PMA to take part in this training.

We normally provide a variety of workshops and training sessions countrywide. Currently all training is taking place via Zoom.

At Production Manager level we offer topics ranging from legal issues such as compliance and music licensing, to Health & Safety and tax issues. We also cover technical topics relating to production and the current pandemic situation.

For more junior people, we offer a variety of entry level and limited experience sessions, which are open to all - bursaries are sometimes available via Screenskills.

Training events are FREE to members with fees charged for non-members. Prices vary from session to session. Places are limited according to each type of event.

PMI - Can someone explain that to me please?
Yes, we can!

Tuesday 17th April 2018

By popular request the PMA brings you an evening of explanation, demonstration and clarification of Octopus PMI, the production management tool.

Venue:       01 Zero One, Hopkins Street, London W1F 0HS

Time:         6.30pm refreshments for prompt start at 7pm

Speaker:    Nuala McLaughlin

Whether you are being 'forced' into using it by a production company, or you are volunteering to enter new territory of unknown software, then this workshop is for you!

PMI is a live system, which integrates finance with production.  Therefore, the cost report is constantly updated as costs are in real time.  But all will be explained.

Don't be scared, come along and listen to the answer to other people's questions and chip in with all the other things that you need to know about.

Nuala will give you an overview and a more drilled down explanation of what PMI is, what it does and how to use it for your own benefit ,including cost reporting and budgets.

The workshop is entirely FREE to members of the PMA (and co-ordinators on our list of recommended co-ordinators) and will cost £30 for anyone else.

Please make payment to: PMA, Co-operative Bank, Sort code: 08 92 99 Account number: 65213803 using your name as reference if possible.

RSVP to [email protected] to reserve your place.

Nuala McLaughlin has 25 years of experience as a production accountant working on everything from hard-hitting documentaries to factual and specialist entertainment.  Her experience includes looking after 7PMs at any one time and she has a credit list that is too long for her to count!

Our Sponsors

The PMA is sponsored by a variety of companies in the film and television industry. We have a long-standing relationship with many of them dating back to the PMA’s inception in 1991.

PMA members benefit from the information and services that our sponsors can provide, while sponsors gain access to the upper echelon of Production Managers in the UK who are major purchasers for the industry.

Become a sponsor

We only have one sponsor per area of business but occasionally opportunities to become a sponsor of the PMA do arise.

Sponsors get the chance to meet our members several times a year, host parties, explain their services and write for our magazine The Bottom Line.
