Training We Offer

You do NOT need to be a member of the PMA to take part in this training.

We normally provide a variety of workshops and training sessions countrywide. Currently all training is taking place via Zoom.

At Production Manager level we offer topics ranging from legal issues such as compliance and music licensing, to Health & Safety and tax issues. We also cover technical topics relating to production and the current pandemic situation.

For more junior people, we offer a variety of entry level and limited experience sessions, which are open to all - bursaries are sometimes available via Screenskills.


Training events are FREE to members with fees charged for non-members. Prices vary from session to session. Places are limited according to each type of event.

Come and join Sarah Jones with her huge depth of experience of the PMI system, answering questions from Sue Davies – with much less experience!

Sarah will take us through the programme from start to finish, helping to smooth out problems.  She will answer questions about the system so you can use it to maximum effect.

·       You will be able to see the system interrogated and explained in straightforward terms.

·       She will explain short-cuts and highlight benefits of using the PMI cost manager.

Sarah Jones Biog:

Sarah has over a decade of experience using the PMI system both for production and accounting.

Currently Head of Production at Impossible Factual, Sarah has overseen large scale specialist factual documentaries such as T.Rex Autopsy, Mummies Alive, and WWII’s Greatest Raids.

Previously, Sarah also was Production Executive on Avalon Factual’s slate as well as production managing across a number of genres from single documentaries and series such as WW1: The First Modern War; The Great Martian War; Human Swarm; My Flat-Pack Home; RAF at 90; World Cup; and A&E, to live and as-live studio-based series like Let’s Do Lunch with Gino & Mel, Daily Cooks Challenge and Smile.
