EXTRA IN ENGLISH
Double Exposure, Channel 4 Learning/RAI Educational. 30 x 25mins. Sit-com format language-learning series. Large studio-based production with all the challenges of working with a co-Producer and a foreign crew in another country. General casting, setting up and script breakdowns. Adapting our working practices to those required by RAI. Demanded multi-skilling on my part, in Associate Producer role at the same time as being language adviser, wardrobe buyer, design and props adviser and auntie to the UK team!
WORKING WEEKS
Double Exposure, 4Learning, 6 x 25mins, Following 6 young people in Bristol as they considered career progression. DVCam with personal commentary on digi. Keeping track of 2 busy crews and associated production demands.
EXTRA IN FRENCH, GERMAN & SPANISH
Double Exposure, 4Learning, 39 x 25mins. Language-learning sit-com from scratch on a restricted budget. I sourced the 3 native-speaker casts (French, Spanish and German) and production team. Extensive dealings with artists and agents. I also saw the project through interactive website and CD-ROM production. RTS winner and BAFTA nominee.
KEY SKILLS: THE CONTENDERS
Catriona Films, BBC, 6 x 30min. This series followed 6 young people and their first experience in the workplace. Their experiences were recorded in observational style, with their performance judged in a studio feedback environment.
THE SEARCH FOR KING SOLOMONS MINES
The to Ends of the Earth, Double Exposure,Channel 4. 50mins. Tahir Shah takes a small crew to Ethiopia to follow an obsession passed on from his father.
FILM FOCUS
Double Exposure, 4Learning. 8 X 30mins. Two series, the first dealing with Bond films and Baz Luhrmann. The second series dealt with the use animation in feature films and advertising. Both series were challenging regarding clearances, involving extensive legal negotiations, especially use of the Bond film clips and EPK footage. One episode won a BAFTA, and another a BAFTA nomination.
CLASSIC SHORT PROSE
Double Exposure, 4Learning. 3 x 30mins. Study of 3 texts by Sylvia Plath, Edgar Allen Poe and Michele Roberts. Drama reconstructions, narrated by Edie Falco, Joss Ackland and Siobhan Redmond.
BRAIN CHILD / SMART BABIES
2 x 50mins Double Exposure, Channel 4 / Discovery TLC Investigating IQ and EQ in early child development. Also took up AP role and travelled to the States for filming.
STOLEN GOLD
Double Exposure,The History Channel/Canal+, 50minWinner of Italian Sports Documentary Film Festival. Special Award from Italian Olympic Committee. Filming in UK and USA.
INSIDE THE CHANNEL TUNNEL
Double Exposure, Discovery, 50mins. Simple re-edit of existing footage with a small amount of extra filming.
PUZZLE MATHS
Double Exposure, (2 series) C4, 2 x 5 x 15mins. Studio based puppet show for pre-school maths.
MAKING OUT
Double Exposure, C4. 6 X 30mins. Docu-soap about twenty-somethings in Nottingham. This series had a dedicated full time Producer so there was less hands-on work for me. However, this led to other special challenges in keeping track of spending where I learned valuable lessons about the relationship between Producer and Production Manager.
TOURIST TROUBLE
Double Exposure, BBC1, 6 x 30min This series was produced concurrently with Making Out, so it was a pretty busy time. At any given time, there could be six crews out filming all over the country. Cost control was the main challenge.
TROUBLE AT THE HOUSE
BBC2, 50min. Keith Cooper presenting the follow-up to Double Exposures BAFTA award-winning series The House. Shot on 16mm.
JUST ENOUGH DISTANCE
Double Exposure, TX for BBC2, 50mins. A beautiful high-end documentary following the tragic story of a young photographer who was murdered. Required sensitive dealings with the family of the photographer. Filmed on 16mm - soundtrack by Jocelyn Pook.
MAFIA WOMEN
Double Exposure, Discovery/Channel 5, 50minThe main challenge on this programme was dealing the legal aspects of the subject matter together with a US Broadcasters awareness of potentially litigious material.
ON THE TRAIL OF THE NEW TESTAMENT
double Exposure, Discovery TLC, 90minsFilming in Israel, Egypt, this involved the usual obstacles of tricky foreign shoots. Filming permits, carnets, complicated travel arrangements, and high demand for paperwork for Discovery.
PLEASURE BEACH
Double Exposure, BBC1, 6 x 30min Popular ob-doc-soap set in Blackpool.
FIRST EDITION
Double Exposure, Carlton 3 x 30mins. Probably the lowest budget programmes on which I have worked! Very proud that they were still great programmes.
GETTING AWAY WITH MURDER?
Films of Fire, Force 10 Productions. Filming in UK and Northern Ireland dealing with a very sensitive issue of murder in the gay community and a legal loophole. I very much enjoyed working with experienced journalists watching them get to the heart of a story in a different way to the television research route.
THE MYSTERY OF TWINS
Optomen TV, Discovery TLC 50mins. Shot in UK, USA and Belgium. Also undertook general budget preparation for Anatomy of Desire (C4), Orson Cart (Animation for Carlton), Three Science Frontiers for Discovery, re-working budgets for Two Fat Ladies (BBC) and Police, Camera, Action!

RDF. 1994-1996. PM on all documentaries for Cutting Edge, Dispatches, Equinox, Money Programme, Witness, High Interest. Also managed output of short news and entertainment reports for international sales. Setting up and managing busy production office in rapidly expanding company. co-ordinating output from offices in London, Singapore and Los Angeles.

Information manager for London events database which included script writing for LWT London Tonight and Captial Radios Kidsline. Producer of advertising items for Selfridges in-store video network, Radio Journalist with Oui FM in Paris, interviewing British bands and translating interviews for broadcast.
